Mixed Feelings

>> February 16, 2010

Roaming through Google and Bing images I keep running across this dress and for some reason I love it and at the same time don't. The pocket trend is odd to me. What would you possibly need pockets for on your wedding day other than kleenex? I really like the top and the flow of the skirt but those darn pockets are throwing me off!

What do you think? Would you wear a dress with pockets on your wedding day??

" To the Bride and Groom"

For some, writing your maid-of-honor or Best-Man speeches can be tough. I personally am glad I have never had to give one. It was hard enough to give speeches in high school let alone in front of a bunch of people you don't know!

If your working on your speech and need some starting lines or something to fill try these...

"Best wishes to the happy couple on their wedding day. May your love for each other grow with each passing year and blossom into your own family. "

"Of all the gifts that time and earth bestow, there is none so precious as a true friend. To my friend (bride), congratulations!"

"My best wishes to you and (groom), the luckiest man alive for marrying this wonderful woman. Cheers! "

"Love is a feeling that’s hard to describe. But if I were ever asked, “what does love look like,” I would show a picture of the two of you on this day. I would like to propose a toast to the wonder of it all. "

Dipped Cherries - Fabulous!

>> February 10, 2010

What a great idea to have on each table at your reception or serve during a cocktail hour. I am not a huge fan of maraschino cherries and I commonly see them dipped in chocolate either on a cupcake or served cold with dipping Carmel.

I really like the idea of dipping Bing cherries!!

101 Ways to Say " I love you" without actually saying it....

>> February 8, 2010

If your relationship is anything liek mine, I love you is a common phrase you tell each other on a daily basis. On Valentines Day saying it again doesn't always make the phrase special. Here are 101 ways to say it without saying it...
I adore you.

I am infatuated with you.

I appreciate you.

I can't live without you.

I can't stop thinking about you when we're apart.

I cherish you.

I dream of you.

I live for our love.

I love being around you.

I need you by my side.

I need you. I respect you.

I value you.

I want a lifetime with you.

I want you.

I worship you.

I yearn for you.

I'm a better person because of you.

I'm blessed to have you in my life.

I'm devoted to you.

I'm fond of you.

I'm lost without you.

I'm nothing without you.

I'm passionate about you.

I'm thankful for you.

I'm yours.

Me and you.

Always.

My love is unconditional.

Our love is invaluable.

Take me, I'm yours.

The thought of you brings a smile to my face.

Ti tengu cara (to female) or Ti tengu caru (to male).

Together, forever.

We were meant to be together.

You are a blessing in disguise.

You are an angel from God.

You are like a candle burning bright.

You are my crush.

You are my dear.

You are my everything.

You are my one and only.

You are my reason for living.

You are my strength.

You are my sunshine.

You are my treasure.

You are my world.

You are precious.

You are the light of my life.

You are the reason I'm alive.

You bring happiness to rainy days.

You bring joy to my life.

You cast a spell on me that can't be broken.

You complete me.

You drive me wild.

You fill me with desire.

You fill my heart.

You give me wings to fly.

You had me from hello.

You hold the key to my heart.

You inspire me.

You intoxicate me.

You lift me up to touch the sky.

You light my flame.

You light up my life.

You make me hot.

You make my heart skip a beat.

You make my world a better place.

You mean the world to me.

You motivate me.

You rock my world.

You seduce me.

You set my heart on fire.

You simply amaze me.

You stole my heart.

You sweeten my sour days.

You turn my world upside down.

You turn the darkness into life.

You're a dream come true.

You're a gem.

You're a twinkle in my eye.

You're absolutely wonderful.

You're all I want.

You're as beautiful as a sunset.

You're beautiful.

You're charming.

You're enchanting.

You're heavenly.

You're my angel.

You're my perfect match.

You're one in a million.

You're priceless.

You're sexy.

You're the apple of my eye.

You're the best thing that ever happened to me.

You're the best.

You're the diamond in the rough.

You're the one for me.

You're the one I've always wished for.

Groom's Brew and Bridal Tea Show

This past Saturday I was in the Groom's Brew and Bridal Tea down in Tumwater at The Sound Sound Manor. Very pretty venue, by the way. I didn't know the over all color scheme of the show was red, white, and black but luckily my booth wasn't in with all the tables and was able to stand out in the other room.
I used a microfiber black stripped tablecloth to cover the part of the table I wanted to have the place settings at. The other couple feet had a white table cloth with all my cards and portfolios.
I really liked the shiny black vases from Michael's with the red rose balls on top, also from Mic heals. The candle, candle holder, and plates are from target and the chairs are from Ikea.

The place settings were the focal point for the table. I had custom sized frames made for the black and red framing. They are made to the size of a place mat and a napkin. Then I filled in the black frame with real red rose petals. The reason for the red frames was to keep the flatware on the table by sanitary by not placing them directly on the petals.

The napkins and napkin rings were also from Target and the glasses are available at all locations that sell glassware. I think this is my favorite table set-up so far!

If you like the frames they can be purchased for $14.99 for the big ones and $9.99 for the small. They can be painted any color you want. Email kim@lillylynnevents.com for more information and large quantity pricing.

Thank you to Jimmy and John for your hard work on the frames!

Tips for Flowers and Decorations

>> February 2, 2010

Do:
* Reuse your bridesmaids bouquets in the reception decor
* Use in-season flowers to get a better price
* Add branches and herbs to your arrangement so you don't have to order so many flowers
* Use basic bulk candels in your arrangements for your reception

Don't:
* Order out of season flowers that will raise your prices and eat up your budget fast
* Spend money to decorate areas where people won't spend much time. ie: Staircases
* Don't worry if you can't afford big centerpieces, a bowl of water with rose petals and candels are just as elegant.

Great Bridesmaid Gifts

>> February 1, 2010

I have been a bridesmaid three times now and each bride gave us some great gifts for being in the wedding. I think my favorite I have gotten, is the pearl necklace and earrings from Amy who I have litterly known since I was born! I wear it all the time and love the fact that she chose a gift that could be worn many many times after the wedding was over.

Cuffs are making a huge wave these days and I think they are an awesome gift that also can be worn many many times after the wedding.

A.V. Max has some great choices that won't break your bank! Here are a couple I love!!
