Rings and Things

For The Guys!

Today's grooms get a whole lot more choices when it comes to picking out jewelry for the wedding and bridal party. There are so many more options for them instead of just settling for just a pair of cuff links, although that's always a dependable choice. They now have the option to pick out diamond watches and even men's rings with diamond accents or made of newer materials, like tungsten or titanium. A cool new trend is for the bride and groom to give each other engagement rings, with each one getting a promise ring for each other. Yes guys you can also get two rings!!

The Old Stand By

If you want to stay traditional with an elegant and classic touch, add some cuff links to the wedding party. You can even have them engraved with the date or some other message to personalize them a bit more. This can add to the look of the wedding and is a great gift for the groomsmen who participate in the wedding.

Diamond Watches

Another option that will cost a bit more, but can also be a great gift, is a diamond watch. These are functional, beautiful, and can be engraved on the back. Great to add a personal touch! They are something that can be worn everyday, rather than only on special occasions (like the cuff links), and make a perfect gift for your groomsmen.

Rings and Other Things

Some men like to wear rings and others don't. However, you do have some metal choices now that you didn't have in the past that can make your choice not only unusual, but more acceptable to modern tastes. Metals like tungsten and titanium are lightweight and sporty and can be combined with a small diamond to provide a perfect pair for an elegant wedding. The metals can range in color from silvery-gray, whitish, to darker colors, depending on the finish.

Overall you have choices these days and can cater to your style! Make sure to check out all your options as you shop and make sure one of those places is Abazias.com.

VENUE: Aerie Ballroom

>> May 27, 2009

A few weeks ago I drove down to beautiful Centraila WA to check out a venue I found online to see if it would be one of those places I would want to recommend to my brides. Although it is on a small street in Centraila, the building is amazing and I was very impressed by the owners.

The building is on the historic register and has been remodeled inside to show the history with some modern day conveniences. When you rent the Aerie for your event you get the ENTIRE building from Friday to Sunday for a remarkable price! This building has a commercial kitchen so any caterer can come in and have enough room to work. As well as having a bridal room, grooms room, saloon area with a bar, grand ballroom area, and balcony. It is truly an amazing place and well worth the drive to take a look at it.

Another great thing about it is that the Centraila is halfway between Portland and Seattle so if you have family in both areas it is a even drive for all!!

If your interested in taking a look let me know at Kim@lillylynnevents.com and we can go down so you can see EVERYTHING you get for an incredible price!

5 Stars!!!

"Pink is my signature color" - Shelby Steal Magnolias

>> May 20, 2009

A couple years ago I was in my brothers wedding and their colors were a light pink and darker pink. He would crack me up laughing with his impersonation of Julia Roberts character Shelby. He would do the Blush and bashful quote from the movie. It was so funny I would die laughing!!

Anyway this week we are talking pink! So today I thought in honor of one of my favorite movies I would show you some great finds for pink bridesmaid dresses. The one I wore in the picture above was from Macys. Gorgeous dress but still yet to find another event to wear it to!

Cooking Time: 20-24
Servings: 24
Preparation Time: 15
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 sticks (6 ounces) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 large eggs

Pink gel-paste coloring

Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter at low speed until smooth. Add the sugar and beat until fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Add the vanilla.
At low speed, alternately beat in the dry ingredients and the milk in 2 additions.
Add the melted white chocolate and beat just until incorporated.
Add anywhere from 1/8 - 1/4 tsp. of the pink gel paste coloring. Mix thoroughly.
Scoop batter into paper-lined muffin tins, about 2/3 full.
Bake 20-24 minutes, depending on your oven. Insert a toothpick into the middle of the cupcake. If it comes out clean, they're done.

Paris Wedding Theme

>> May 13, 2009

If you were ever at my house you would know I LOVE Paris due to the Eiffel Tower on my dining room table and all the black and white pictures I have hanging up! Well someday when I have my chance at being the bride instead of planning for someone else....I am considering a Paris themed wedding!

The style and the romantic flare that Paris gives off is amazing! Although I have never been there, it is high on my list to visit someday. Hopefully I will have the chance to plan this wedding sometime in the near future :)

Vests

>> May 12, 2009

Summer weddings can be hot... depending on where you are getting married at. I always feel bad for the groom and his guys who have to stand out in the sun and literally melt in the sun!

Why not switch it up some and have all the guys just wear vests? Like the pictures in this post, there are many ways and styles to make the vest only look work.

Also....LOVE the hats so if your a groom who can rock a hat, why not?

Courious to know..............

Grooms- Would you rock a vest and a hat?
Brides - Would you want your guy to rock the vest and hat?
