1. Plum Poppy Clutch - Etsy.com

This is a very pretty and unique clutch that will be a great addition to your wardrobe. The plum poppy is striking against the dark plum background. For a little extravagance the lining is silk dupioni and is a beautiful rosy pink that compliments the fabric perfectly. 2. Journal - Etsy.com

The combination of daffodil yellow and silver grey is both elegant and refined. I have covered this journal in a beautiful Smock paper and used little details like scalloped edges and a luxurious velvet ribbon to create a truly unique masterpiece. You will be delighted with this journal.

This listing is for one of the two OOAK handmade CIRCLES-collection bracelets shown - choose between the matte-finished one (pics 2-3), or the black rhodium finished (pics 4-5). Both are sterling silver! Their width is 3 cm (1.2 inch).

Creative Guest Book Idea

>> September 24, 2009

I used to be a HUGE scrapbooker when I had lots of extra time and money. But these days I am lucky if I get my pictures uploaded from my camera within a month of us doing something!

Earlier I was on MarthaStewart.com and was looking in their memories section on the wedding site. Looking over the cool guest book idea and random pictures from your guests idea...BAM.... I had this idea.

For any event where you want to remember who came you could set up a bowl or vase ( like pictured below) and have some great patterned or colorful paper for people to either just put their names on or words of advice.

Then have friends take more candid pics (in addition to your hired photographer if its your wedding).

You can get any type of scrapbook at your local scrapbooking or craft store. Put your pictures in with your guests advice/names along with mementos from the event. Great way to saver the moment and be able to look back in the future!

*Not so crafty but want a book....$10 a page for us to do it! Just mail us the pics and the mementos with an idea of how you want it to look and give us a month. Presto! You have an awesome book! Send us an email on our contact page

Pumpkin Party

>> September 22, 2009

So its getting to that time again...it was 45 degrees when I left this morning Brrrrr!! Time to start getting out the pumpkin spice candles (personal fav) and start decorating for fall.
I LOVE FALL!!!
Not only are the clothes way cuter but I am a layering type of person who loves the boots, jacket and sweater combo, and HATS!! This is the start of my fashionista time of year. Not only that but why not have a party that is pumpkin themed? So fun to get your friends together!
Here is a great look for your entry. Not very expensive to buy some pumpkins and cut some basic stripes in them. Just enough to look like little lanterns. I know I plan to have LOTS of pumpkins on my steps and then do the simple cuts shortly before Halloween. You could also buy some great lanterns and mix them in with the pumpkins along your walk way.

I found these on Better Homes and Gardens and thought they would be cute favors or just good fall candy dishes for your parties. Pretty simple and fun!

Stephen and Brittany Wedding

BEAUTIFUL Wedding in Seattle last August!! Brittany was so much fun to work with on her wedding. Although we did most of the planning with her in Virginia and me here, it was so much fun and beautiful.

The ceremony was held at Kubota Garden in South Seattle and we used AA Party Supply for all the rentals. Rebbeca with Perpetual Posies did all the flowers, and April with Cheeky Monkey Pics was the photographer. This paticular picture was taken during their grand entrance at The Mayflower Park Hotel by Westlake Center in downtown Seattle. The hotel was so easy to work with and made the planning with them simple.

See more pictures of this wedding on our gallery!

Wearing a Second Hand Gown...Do or Don't?

>> September 21, 2009

These days there are so many websites and consignment stores that sell used wedding gowns. Now there is nothing wrong with going to one of these sites or store but keep a couple things in mind. Same with if a family member such as your mom or aunt offers you her gown.

Do consider the offer. Not only will accepting the offer keep possible tensions to a minimum, it will also reduce the cost of the ceremony. Seeking out something new can run into the thousands. So if your big day has a budget, this is one way to stick to it. Plus, if it's your mother's dress, you could do your vows vintage-style. This will add to the traditional tone of the big day, which is what fairy tale weddings are all about.

Don't dare to wear it the way you get it. It's unlikely it will fit you perfectly so be prepared to alter the size. It's your big day, you don't want to be remembered as the bride who wore her best friend's dress, just not quite as well. Also, sporting family heirlooms on the big day is always fashionable but, at a generation or so old, the heirlooms themselves often aren't. With a little nip, tuck and chuck of the shoulder pads, a seamstress can work wedding dress-wonders.

2010 Wedding Trends

Backyard Weddings at Home
These days it is very important to my clients to cut unneccasary funds where they can. If you have a family memeber or friends with some property, why not have a smaller ceremony on their land where you don't have to follow typical rental hall rules. See my post about picnic themed weddings as well for more ideas.

Homemade Wedding Favors
This one is fun! Why not take a candel making class or find a cute how-to project at your local craft store to do with your bridesmaids. It is more meaningful to you and if you do something that represents you and your fiance, it will mean more to your guests as well.

Birdcage Veils
These are a long time love of mine! Amazing with the right dress. We did a post on them not too long ago. Etsy has some great shops with origional designs for any type of bride.

Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses
I was in a wedding a couple years ago ( our year of 15 weddings in 11 months that my family was invited too including my big bros wedding!) where the bride picked the color of the dress at David's Bridal and then we all picked a different style. I like this idea because your size 4 bridesmaid and size 14 may not look the same nor feel comfortable in the same dress.

Strapless Wedding Dresses
These have been popular for years but this 2010 they will still hold the brightest candel in brides eyes. Try David's Bridal or Wedding Bell Bride if you are in the Tacoma area..both are great!

Yummy Fall Soup

>> September 10, 2009

In the fall and winter I am a total soup freak! So since the leaves are starting to change and the weather is starting to cool down I feel it is time start with the fall recipes!!!

Simple Pumpkin Soup

1/2 cup onion
3 tbsp. butter
2 cups mashed cooked pumpkin
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
3 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup half and half or fat free half and half.

Chop the onions and gently brown with butter in a pan. Put mashed pumpkin with onions in pan. Add the salt, sugar, nutmeg and pepper. Slowly add chicken broth and heat thoroughly, but do not boil. To serve, pour into a tureen and add the cream. Makes 4 to 6 small servings.

This is a great recipe for lazy rainy weekends, dinner parties, bridal showers, or just for fun! I love the pumpkin detail on the cup!!

Fall Festive!

>> September 2, 2009

I love the fall and winter not just because of the great fashion or the rainy storms here in Seattle, but I love the warm decor. Now that I have my own house I really enjoy adding the pumpkin spice candles and the pine cones to my daily house ambiance.

This fall there is no reason not to host a fall harvest party! It is a great way to get your friends together and not force the holidays on people who don't celebrate or aren't comfortable. I personally am not a huge fan of Halloween but the harvest feel is so comforting.
