Beach Party Theme

>> July 31, 2010

If you are holding a beach themed wedding, keeping the theme universal makes the planning and preparations much easier. When you begin planning the bridesmaid luncheon, why not consider combining the male and female attendants “thank you” party into one competitive and fun event. Planning the wedding attendant luncheon for your entire bridal party can be a great deal of fun and take very little effort as long as you identify your main goal of the event and create an entire afternoon around that activity. Since you are hosting a luncheon, a beach barbecue would be a thematic and fun.

An afternoon activity that would provide lighthearted fun and competitiveness between the two sides of the bridal party could include a “sand castle building” competition at your local beach. This unique and exciting activity would provide a great opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know one another and express their creative side along the way. Additional activities that could be included in the day’s itinerary could include a game of beach volleyball and a bonfire.

However, if you intend to build a fire on a public beach it is often a good idea to check with your city council to discover if any special permits are necessary prior to hosting your event.
Taking time to locate beach themed wedding attendant gifts for each member of your wedding party is actually easier than you might think; many online and retail wedding planning outlets have unique and creative wedding party favors to give to your friends and family on this special day.

Help Your Guests CHILL

>> July 27, 2010

Summer weddings are among some of the most popular. Many brides choose the summer season for their big-day because there is usually a better chance of a rain-free event, gorgeous sunsets, and an overall cheery feeling that only comes from the summer-time. One of the only down-falls that comes from the season is the heat…

So here is an idea for all of you summer weddings. Skip the traditional wedding cake, and serve your guests a cool treat instead…wedding cake snow cones are all the rage! They taste just like a wedding cake, but are sure to cool down even the hottest of groomsmen. And for those of you brides on a budget, this is actually a cheaper alternative to a big fancy wedding cake.

Love the Idea? Well, lets talk about how to make it snow! There are a couple of different options sure to fit into any brides budget. Snow cone machines can easily be rented (from your local party-supply company) or purchased (check sites like and try to find a used machine). The next thing you need is the syrup. If you want to keep as close to traditional as possible. The wedding cake flavor can be purchased in a flavor-concentrate (a much more economical way to serve a high number of guests) or many companies offer ready-to-use syrups. Next, you will need something to serve your delicious frozen treats in. Using small clear plastic cups from a bulk-store would be the cheapest way to go about this…but there are a million other options as well. Ordering custom cups with the couples name on them would give your wedding a very personal feel. Another idea is to use cute plastic martini glasses that coordinate with your wedding colors. Get creative with this girls…your guests will be excited about their cool non-traditional desert!

Other Tips:
If you aren’t into the wedding cake flavor…visit this website for a twist on cool watermelon snow cones.

Make sure you have enough supplies to cover all of your guests…even the ones that you know will come back for seconds after they get super hot doing the funky chicken out on your dance floor!

Getting Snow Cone Cream to put on top makes this chilled treat even more yummy!

Picking Wedding Invitations

>> July 7, 2010

Picking out your wedding invitations very well may be one of the first things you do in preparation for your wedding day. It also may be one of the most exciting things that you do. You will want them to be an expression of you love and to look great as you proclaim your big day to friends and family all over the world. When you pick your wedding invitations you want them to have a sense of style that is unique to you and your mate, and that reflects your personality and the theme of your wedding as well. The following are just a few tips to think about when picking the style of wedding invitations
that best suits you and your mate.

One of the first things that you should do when you are considering wedding invitations and making your final choice is to think about whether you are having a formal wedding or a more informal event. Many guests need to take comfort in knowing what attire is expected. Nothing is worse for a guest than showing up in black tie garb and everyone else is wearing slacks – or vice versa to that. If you are having a formal black tie wedding, you should remember to not send out informal invitations. On the other hand, if you are having an informal wedding, formal invitations may look overdone for what you are planning.

Formal invitation styles are usually thicker on a sturdier paper. More informal styles of invitations are lighter and will naturally give guests a more relaxed vibe to your wedding day. Considering your personal style and the style of your wedding is also important when you are choosing wedding invitations. Another thing to think about is the season in which the gala falls.

Many invitations and wedding favors come in season-inspired designs these days that add a touch of class to any celebration. Also, if you have certain colors in mind for your wedding you may want to use those colors on your wedding invitations. While you do not have to match your invitations to your wedding colors, often this is a little added classy touch. Otherwise if you’re thinking about coordinating your invitation colors, you may just want to pick wedding invitations in a favorite color that enhances some aspect of the wedding. You should also keep your wedding theme in mind when you are choosing your wedding invitations.

Again, whether you are season-inspired, having a beach wedding, a country wedding, a garden wedding, a Vegas-themed wedding, or a traditional church wedding, you should keep the theme in mind. Try to coordinate the theme and style of your wedding invitations to the theme that you are having for you love-filled celebration. Wedding invitations are important because they are announcing the day of your marriage for all the loved ones in your lives. You want the invitations to look great and announce your wedding with you and your mate’s unique style. Keeping in mind the formality of the wedding, the colors and style, the season in which you are having your event, and the theme of your wedding can all help pick the perfect wedding invitations.

Well designed invitations will impress your guests and be a great way to invite them to one of the biggest events in your life. It’s also a fun way for Newlyweds to decide which direction they want to go with their once in a lifetime day.
